FAQs
Where and when do you operate?
I operate within a 15 mile radius of downtown Asheville. My typical days are Saturday, Monday and Tuesday from 9am to 4pm.
How often should I get my dogs nails trimmed?
The general consensus for how often to get nail trims is 3-6 weeks. If you can hear all of their nails clicking on the hardwood. It's probably time.
How much do you charge?
I charge $25 per dog if you have an Asheville address and $30 for those outside of town. I accept cash and venmo.
Why is grinding better than clipping?
Grinding a dog's nails with a nail grinder is generally considered safer and more precise than clipping them with clippers, especially for dogs with dark or thick nails. Grinding allows for a more controlled and gradual reduction of nail length, minimizing the risk of cutting into the "quick" (the sensitive, blood-carrying part of the nail). It also produces a smoother, rounded edge, reducing the chance of snags and scratches.
What if I am unsure how my dog will do with nail grinding?
If you are unsure how your dog will do, I am willing to give any dog a try within the radius. I work with all breeds!
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
If you need to change your appointment please give at least 24 hours notice. I do ask a $15 last minute cancellation and rescheduling fee as I am unable to fill the appointment and I depend on this income.
